Lorde is the latest addition to this weekend’s star-studded GRAMMY nominations event, officially dubbed The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live!! — Countdown to Music’s Biggest Night.
“It’s not the kind of song Miranda would normally do,” Urban told Radio.com, “but her voice is the first one I heard in my head.”
“The song ‘We Were Us’ came along,” said Urban, “and it’s not the kind of song Miranda would normally do, but her voice is the first one I heard in my head.”
During our Country Jet Set Tour, we stopped in Louisiana to catch up with Dustin Lynch, who’s currently on Keith Urban’s Light the Fuse Tour. He talked about how he’s constantly tweaking his set based on venues and audience reactions.
The hour-long special, airing on CBS, will also feature a performance from Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and of course, the announcement of this year’s GRAMMY nominees.
“I think Patrick’s melodies, maybe, lend themselves to country naturally,” Wentz recently suggested to Radio.com regarding the genre’s current fascination with his band, though admittedly he had not noticed.
“I’ve watched some of the greatest guitarists in the world perform and I’ve seen people just learning how to play,” Urban said. “The looks on their faces are almost always the same and the connection with the instrument is genuine.”
During his set on the Light the Fuse Tour, Lynch says he has a medley that includes “Dust on the Bottle,” Justin Timberlake’s “Rock Your Body” and Trey Songz’ “Say Aah.” It’s “way out there,” he says, “but weirdly enough, it works.”
Who better to duet on a love song than married couple Faith Hill and Tim McGraw? Here’s a look at 10 of the best duets in country music.
“I heard ‘My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark’ and we had already written ‘Stars’ and so I just imagined that kind of energy in that song and what would happen,” he said.
“The 16 songs cover a lot of ground,” Urban says of his new album, and “there’s something about each track that is very much a part of who I am. Even if it’s a song I haven’t written, I make a connection and hope others do, too.”
“I just love Miranda’s voice. I love her artistry. We did some shows together many years ago. She got up and did a song with me each night and I loved our voices together,” he said.
“I’m surprised how happy I am with this album. This might be the very first album where it’s been finished and I’m completely ready for people to get to hear it.”
“I just got the feel of it. Everybody that had heard the song loved it. Sometimes it’s just as simple as that.”
Keith Urban is gearing up for a busy few months. His new album, Fuse, will be out on Sept. 10, and now he’s announced he’s extending his current Light The Fuse tour through January.
