He’s done in-depth examinations on all sorts of American traditions, including baseball, jazz, national parks, the Dust Bowl and of course the Civil War. So it’s little surprise to learn that acclaimed documentarian Ken Burns is now setting his sights on country music.
On this week’s Billboard Hot 100 chart, “Cups” reaches its highest peak yet, jumping one spot to No. 8 after finding a home on both pop and adult contemporary radio.
“It was really important for me to transform into June,” said Jewel, “because I am a famous singer in my own right, and I wanted to make sure to avoid people turning on the TV and asking, ‘Why is Jewel wearing a brown wig?’”
