Mario Lopez is a busy guy.
Between his appearances and hosting gigs, the two-time Emmy award-winning host of Extra likes to keep active and lead a healthy lifestyle. But when it’s time to relax with the family, he turns to Greater Palm Springs.
Lopez has booked a relaxing getaway for he and his family at The Ritz-Carlton, Rancho Mirage, where immediately, the star is able to unwind and slow down a bit.
“When I’m looking for a resort, I think you want to feel like you’re really being taken away and feel like you’re a million miles from home,” Lopez says. “What’s great about this one is you really don’t have to leave, if you don’t want to.”
The expansive 24-acre property features gorgeous views of the Coachella Valley, design elements that accentuate outdoor living, and three pools, one of which has an infinity edge overlooking the Greater Palm Springs oasis below.
“The Ritz-Carlton, Rancho Mirage is beautiful; it’s breathtaking, the views and the rooms are gorgeous,” he shares.
In the mood for a little shopping, Lopez and his wife, Courtney, leave the kids with grandma at the family-friendly resort and head to nearby El Paseo.
“My wife and I were cruising around El Paseo in Palm Desert, which is beautiful,” he said. “They’ve got all kinds of luxury shopping with stores that everyone knows; but then you’ve got little boutiques.”
After a weekend of relaxation, Lopez takes a moment to reflect on the area.
“Palm Springs obviously has a lot to offer, but you don’t necessarily always need to be doing something,” Lopez says. “There are so many beautiful places to be outside, especially at night; the weather is so beautiful all the time.”
