A slew of artists and bands will show up and turn it up out to celebrate the 2017 MusiCares Person of the Year, Tom Petty.
The 2017 MusiCares Person of the Year gala will take place on February 10 in Los Angeles, and comes as part of GRAMMY week. The star studded line-up includes Foo Fighters, Stevie Nicks, Elle King, Don Henley, Norah Jones, Kings Of Leon, Randy Newman, Jackson Browne, Lucinda Williams, Gary Clark Jr., Jeff Lynne, George Strait, Chris Hillman, Herb Pedersen, Regina Spektor and the Bangles. And there are still more names to come.
The Foo Fighters haven’t performed publicly, except for one charitable event, since November 2015, but they are ending their hiatus to honor one of rock ‘n’ roll’s favorites. After the tribute performances are over Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers will take the stage to close out the evening.
T Bone Burnett will be the musical director of the evening. All proceeds from the gala go towards the MusiCares Foundation, which provides assistance to musicians experiencing financial or medical difficulty.
