German electronic group Tangerine Dream have been cited by Stranger Things composers Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein as inspiration behind the series’ music. Now, the band is returning the favor with a cover of two of the Netflix show’s songs.

Recently, Tangerine Dream posted two covers on their Soundcloud page inspired by the series. While the theme song is practically an exact interpretation, their take on another song from the series is more haunting. Listen to both covers below.

Perhaps there will be an official Tangerine Dream collaboration with Stranger Things in the future?

Last month, the series’ score was released digitally throughout two volumes. The first features 36 tracks from Austin, Texas, musicians Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein, who are part of the experimental synth quartet S U R V I V E.
