The Roots will be expanding their Roots Picnic concert to New York. The two-day event in October features an impressive array of names from hip-hop, R&B and more.
The Roots will headline on both October 1 and 2, but they bring with them several special guests. On October 1, D’Angelo and John Mayer will join them for their set, while on October 2 they are dedicating their performance to New York. The set, titled “Love Letter to NYC,” will feature Wu-Tang Clan, David Byrne and Nile Rodgers.
Other performers include Kevin Gates, X Ambassadors, Trombone Shorty, Echosmith and Swizz Beatz with more names to be announced as the festival gets closer.
The concert has taken place in Philadelphia for the past nine years, but organizers have been eager to bring it to NYC. It will all take place in Bryant Park. Limited 2-day passes and single day tickets go on sale June 10 at 10 a.m. ET via Ticketmaster.
