Pop stardom is good work, if you can get it. Teen idols see the world, cultivate a following and earn millions doing what they love. But imagine you’re part of the world’s biggest boy band—they go on a hiatus—and for the first time in five years, you have nothing to do.
This is Liam Payne’s dilemma. Yesterday the wry lad tweeted, “Off to the job centre … Hope it all works out.”
Retirement is not for everyone. Facing sudden unemployment in this difficult economy, Liam is ready to polish his resume and pound the pavement in search of his next gig. Here are some transferrable skills from his tenure at One Direction:
- According to a One Direction fan post, Liam’s two favorite words are “brilliant” and “fantastic,” so he has a “positive attitude.”
- He’s attentive with his fans—You could accurately call him a “people person.”
- Liam owns two pink hair straighteners and presumably knows how to use them. He’s “fashion forward!”
- He once said that if he could do anything besides making music he would be a fireman or a gym teacher. Put another way, he has “diverse skills,” and “is not afraid to get his hands dirty.”
If you know of any openings, tweet him…he’d surely appreciate the help. Hope it all works out.
