Miles Teller is a really good actor. He was so convincing as a jazz drummer in the Oscar-winning movie Whiplash that an actual drummer called him out for a real-life drumming challenge to see who’s better.

During an interview with KROQ (a CBS Radio station) morning show DJs Kevin & Bean, Teller responded to the challenge issued by the “world’s fastest drummer,” Tom Grosset.

“I kind of saw some talk about it on Twitter, and to me that’s like, why don’t you challenge the second-fastest drummer in the world?” Teller quipped. “Why would you challenge a guy who played in some garage bands in Florida and has a fun time doing it? I don’t go for speed. It’s not a sprint for the Miles man.”

Best response ever? Quite possibly, especially since we’re going to refer to Miles Teller as “the Miles man” from here on out.
