Doctors Like to Perform Surgery to Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb”

By Ezra Marcus

Apparently doctors do have a sense of humor.

In a new study conducted by Cardiff University Hospital, doctors chose the best and worst songs for performing surgery. Number 1? Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb,” Classic Rock Magazine reports.

Think about that playing next time you drift off into an anesthetic haze.

Following that comes “Stayin’ Alive” by the Bee Gees, Sade’s ‘Smooth Operator,’ Wham!’s “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go” and Coldplay‘s ’Fix You.’

How about the worst? Queen’s ‘Another One Bites the Dust,’ of course. The list also included Bob Dylan‘s ‘Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door,’ ‘Everybody Hurts’ by R.E.M., the Red Hot Chili Peppers‘ “Scar Tissue” and Radiohead‘s “Knives Out.”

Might we also suggest The Fugees‘ “Killing Me Softly” ? Or “Don’t Fear the Reaper” by Blue Oyster Cult, perhaps. Too much?
