Def Jam Recordings is turning 30 and like most 30 year olds, they are having an epic party. Unlike most thirty year olds, however, they will not drink too much and spend the next day crying about how they wasted their youth and have nothing left to look forward to.
Taking place on October 16, Brooklyn’s Barclays Center will host Def Jam Recording’s 30 Year Anniversary Concert featuring Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, DMX, Fabolous, Jeremih, EPMD, Foxy Brown, Jhené Aiko, Onyx, Method Man, Redman, Ashanti, Ja Rule, Warren G, and more still to be announced, Pitchfork reports.
The label will also release a limited edition box set. The collection will contain Selections From The Roots of Def Jam, curated by label co-founder Rick Rubin and featuring music that inspired him to launch the label, and a two-volume Def Jam Recordings’ Greatest Hits.
Pre-ordering the box set will allow fans access to a pre-sale for the concert.
