Kings of Leon Cancel Tour Dates After Drummer Injured in Bus Crash: See His Video Statement

By Marissa G. Muller

After a person jumped in front of Kings of Leon‘s tour bus on Sunday night, causing a car crash that left drummer Nathan Followill with broken ribs, the band had to cancel a string of shows up until Aug. 28.

On the bright side, Followill is expected to make a full recovery. Today the band posted an optimistic YouTube clip of Followill in his hospital bed, talking about his recovery. “I’m going to get completely healed up and get out there,” he says in the video.

He also apologized to fans for their canceled shows in New York, Virginia, Ohio, Indiana and New Hampshire, saying, “Sorry I had to skip out on these few shows but it’s all for the better. Thanks for all the well wishes.

“I’ll see you guys on the next show.”

That would be when they play Holmdel, N.J., on Aug. 28. However, the band are still scheduled to make their appearance on tonight’s episode of The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. Followill will be replaced during the TV taping with The RootsQuestlove.

It is unknown if the band will reschedule the canceled tour dates.
