According to The Tampa Tribune, Jessica Robbins of Tampa Bay, Fla. sent numerous messages through social media via different online usernames to Cornell that caused him and his family to fear for their lives.

The charges stem back to 2008 or 2009 when Robbins posted online videos accusing Cornell of plagiarizing her writings. She later posted online messages accusing Cornell’s wife, Vicky of abusing her children and being addicted to drugs. She later contacted the New York State Office of Children and Family Services with the same accusation. Robbins also wrote online that she traveled to Cornell’s home in Miami to visit the singer, but was unable to use an elevator to get in.

According to court records, Cornell and his wife removed their two children from a New York school because they feared Robbins would harm them.

Robbins was released Friday (July 25) after posting the $50,000 bail, but a Tampa court has ruled that she can’t have any contact with Cornell or his family and also cannot access the Internet. The court also ordered that she wear a GPS device and submit to psychiatric evaluation and treatment.

Additionally, Robbins must stay 1,000 feet from the MidFlorida Amphitheatre in Tampa when Soundgarden performs at the venue, which the band is scheduled to do on Aug. 11.

Cornell is currently on tour with his band Soundgarden who are sharing a bill with fellow rockers Nine Inch Nails.
