Outkast Returning to Atlanta for Homecoming Show

By Kevin Rutherford

Outkast is coming home to the ATL.

The rap duo will play a homecoming show in Atlanta this September, marking their first appearance in their hometown since before their breakup in the 2000s, Billboard reports.

Big Boi and Andre 3000 will perform at the Centennial Olympic Park on Sept. 27. In addition to an Outkast spot, the duo will also curate the concert with other musical guests, to be announced at a later date.

“It’s only right that we give the hometown what we’ve been giving the rest of the world, Atliens in ATL, homecoming!” Big Boi said in a statement, adding, “Festival Killers.”

Andre had a little bit to say as well. “Coming from Atlanta gave us the freedom to be whatever we ever wanted to be because no one was paying attention,” he noted. “Now that everyone is, we want to say thank you.”

The show will mark a rare appearance outside the festival circuit for the newly reunited group, who is currently on a tour of over 40 fests.

Tickets will go on sale for the show on June 18 at 10 a.m. ET via Ticketmaster.
