Sara Bareilles Covers Jackie Wilson’s ‘Higher and Higher’ for Oprah

By Shannon Carlin

Sara Bareilles has a way of making us all feel pretty good about ourselves, so it’s no surprise that she would eventually team up with the Queen of All Media herself, Oprah.

Bareilles is lending her voice to promos for Ms. O’s network, OWN, letting people know how great the channel’s summer lineup is. But Bareilles isn’t looking to see them be “Brave.” she’s hoping to bring them “Higher and Higher.” We’ll assume she’s specifically talking about the ratings.

For the video, Bareilles puts her own stamp on the 1967 song, “Higher and Higher” by Jackie Wilson in an advertisement that features shots of Oprah getting her dance on with Pharrell and Justin Timberlake getting real with the camera.
