The 12-song album includes the duo dabbling in guest spots, with Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend for the aptly named “Ezra’s Interlude,” Solange and Toro y Moi.

The new record also continues Chromeo’s time-tested combination of providing a silly, carefree escape to ’80s-styled disco while remaining in high regard among audiences. In an interview at Coachella last month with, singer Dave 1 chalked this up to having the correct focus when it comes to their music.

“You need to aim just right, otherwise you’re Lonely Island or…you’re just like pretentious disco stuff,” he said. “It’s gotta be right in the middle and that’s why we work hard on our songs, hard on our craft.”

White Women is out May 12.
