What is pretty? Queen Beyoncé wants answers.
On a new website, whatispretty.com, members of the Beyhive and other concerned citizens are encouraged to upload images, videos and captions expressing their idea of beauty.
Among the already uploaded images are lots of photos of babies, little girls with broad smiles and real-woman selfies. The site is powered by Instagram contributions exclusively and once fans authorize the site to access their Insta-feed, adding the hashtag #whatispretty will mark a photo, video and/or caption as contributed and cause it to show up on Beyoncé’s web feed.
This follows the official release of her video for “Pretty Hurts” last week, marking the track as Beyoncé’s next single. The singer was also recently named one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential People and announced a forthcoming tour with her husband, Jay-Z.
In a behind the scenes clip from the “Pretty Hurts” video, Beyoncé says, “I wanted to tap into the world of competition…That song represents finding that thing in the world that makes you truly happy.” Watch the video below.
