Update: You can listen to the studio version of the song below, and check out the recently announced tour dates below.

Jack White is a man of his word.

Earlier this month, he revealed that he had plans to issue the “world’s fastest released record” ever. According to White’s Third Man Records website, he would perform a live version of “Lazaretto”, the title track of his upcoming solo album, on the morning of April 19 at a special fan show inside the Third Man store in Nashville. From there, the recording would be sent away to be pressed and then sent back to Third Man to be sold.

Now, that record, truly the world’s fastest in terms of its release, is out and available.

One program director talked of his experience witnessing White perform his new single and took home a copy of the “world’s fastest released record” for $30.

Listen below to learn how the day unfolded and hear White’s “Lazaretto” complete with fiddle and slide guitar (7:15 in).

White’s Third Man Records constantly find new and interesting ways to release vinyl for Record Store Day. In the past, Third Man have released liquid-filled “Sixteen Saltines” 12-inch and 1000 flexi-disc copies of the song “Freedom at 21″ sent out to the world attached to helium balloons. One can only wonder what next year’s Record Store Day will bring, but we have a feeling he’ll find a way to top this year’s.
