Taylor Swift Granted Restraining Order Against Man Who Claims To Be Her Husband

By Annie Reuter

Taylor Swift is now protected from a man who was threatening harm to her family.

According to Billboard, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Carol Boas Goodson granted Swift a three-year restraining order from Timothy Sweet, who claims he’s the Red singer’s husband.

“Mr. Sweet’s course of conduct, including threats to harm my family, are seriously alarming and harassing and are extremely distressing to me and my family,” Swift wrote in a sworn declaration filed March 3.

Sweet has visited Swift’s homes in Beverly Hills and Nashville and has sent her several disturbing messages online.

“Dearest Taylor, I’ll kill any man who gets in the way of our marriage,” one of the messages stated, according to the filing.

The restraining order also covers her parents, her homes and places where she works in Los Angeles and Nashville.

This isn’t the first time Swift has had questionable claims against her. Last November, she was listed as next of kin by a pilot after his plane crashed at a Nashville airport.

Metro Police spokesman Don Aaron told The Tennessean in an email that one of the precinct detectives heard from the Federal Aviation Administration that Michael Callan had listed Swift as his next of kin with the flying club in Canada. This was then passed to the agency’s Specialized Investigations Unit, where “a sergeant in that unit relayed the information to Swift’s security team. Swift’s team reported back that no one, including the singer, had heard of Callan before the crash.”

In happier news, Swift is nominated for Entertainer of the Year at at this year’s ACM Awards going up against. Voting is open now through the awards show on April 6.
