Since the release of 2011’s El Camino, the Black Keys have spent most of their time on the road instead of in the studio. But somewhere along the way they carved out a little time to record and in just a couple of days fans will finally get a taste of what they’ve been working on.

On Monday, March 24, the duo of Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney are set to release their new single “Fever.” The song will premiere on US rock stations, including’s very own KROQ in Los Angeles, this coming Monday at 3:30 EST / 12:30 PST. No other details have been released about the song at this time.

While the band hasn’t released a new song in a while–three years, to be exact–the guys have kept busy producing other people’s albums. Carney worked on records from the Canadian rock band The Sheepdogs and indie pop husband and wife duo Tennis, while Auerbach, who earned the GRAMMY for Producer of the Year in 2013, recently worked on albums from Ray LaMontagne and Lana Del Rey. She even tweeted a photo of her sitting on his lap to prove it.

The Black Keys are currently only scheduled for on U.S. gig, this year’s Hangout Fest, which takes place on the beaches of Gulf Shores, AL on May 16-18. Other acts include The KillersJack JohnsonQueens of the Stone AgePretty LightsThe Avett Brothers and Modest Mouse.
