Tim McGraw’s ‘Lookin’ for That Girl’ Video Shows His Psychedelic Side

By Kurt Wolff

You probably don’t think of Tim McGraw as a psychedelic kind of guy. But he sure isn’t afraid to get bright and bold with his color palette in his new video “Lookin’ for That Girl.”

Leading with colorful, kaleidoscopic images of McGraw on stage, the music video takes listeners on a journey the center of his mind.

Visually, it’s a pretty trippy ride. McGraw must have been inspired by the lyrics in his song, which include references to “strawberry wine,” “Neon Jager bombs” and a “day glow, radio slow ride.” The video’s candy-colored imagery includes rows of dancing females who appear to be haunting and taunting McGraw’s dreams, paired with scenes of cars, buildings and empty western roads, as McGraw sings in his apparently Auto-Tuned voice about “spending every night looking for that girl.”
