Update (01/23, 11:25 a.m. ET): The Miami Beach Police Department has released Justin Bieber’s incredibly smiley mugshot (below). The arrest report states that the officer smelled an “odor of alcohol emanating from the drivers breath and bloodshot eyes.” It continues to explain that Bieber had “slow deliberate movements and a stupor look on his face.” Under the influence, Bieber did not understand why he was being arrested and continually asked each officer why he was being transported to the Miami Beach Police Department.

Justin Bieber was arrested in Miami for drag-racing and driving under the influence in a Lamborghini early Thursday morning (Jan. 23), CBS Miami reports.

The pop star’s entourage used their cars to block traffic in a residential area in Miami Beach, in order to create a drag strip, The Miami Herald reports.

“He was pulled over and failed a field sobriety test,” Miami Beach Police Sgt. Bobby Hernandez told the Miami Sun-Sentinel. “He was then taken to the police station to be offered a breathalyzer.”

At the time of the arrest, Bieber was incoherent and kept his hands in his pockets. As it stands, he’s at the police station before he’ll be moved to county jail for mugshots and processing.

Bieber told officers that he had a beer, was under the influence of anti-depressants and had been smoking weed all day, according to what police sources relayed to The Miami Herald. According to the police chief, Bieber did not have a valid license at the time of the arrest.

The Miami Herald also reported that Bieber’s friend, singer Khalil Sharief, who is signed to Island Def Jam Records, was arrested in another car and also charged with a DUI.

According to CBS Miami, police have confirmed that Bieber and Sharief’s blood alcohol level was below the legal limit, but were arrested for driving under the influence after failing a roadside test. No details have been given as of now on what drugs he was tested positive for. The police chief also noted in his statement that Bieber is under the legal drinking age at 19 years old.

The bad-boy singer’s presence in South Florida has also led to an investigation in North Miami’s Opa-locka, specifically as to why an unauthorized police escort was provided to him on Monday (Jan. 20). That same night, Bieber was spotted spending tens of thousands at a local strip club.

R&B singer Khalil Sharieff was arrested alongside Bieber this morning. The 19-year-old was racing the Biebs in a red Ferrari and was also arrested for a DUI. He took to Twitter, tweeting a photo of Bieber in his yellow Lamborghini, just hours before his arrest.

The Miami Beach Police Department has been eager to share news on Bieber’s arrest, providing constant updates on their Twitter page.

This follows a recent search warrant executed on Bieber’s home in Calabasas, California, where drugs and drug paraphernalia were found, but he was not charged.
