Justin Bieber Search Warrant Leads to Cocaine Arrest for Friend

Updated: (1/14, 3:45 p.m. ET) Upon further investigation, CBS LA reports that one person was arrested today (Jan. 14) at Justin Bieber’s home for cocaine possession, which was unrelated to the alleged egg-throwing incident. According to authorities, the drugs found were in plain sight of the detectives. TMZ reports it was Bieber’s friend, Lil Za, who was arrested while wearing a shirt that that appears to read EGG$.

Another day, more Justin Bieber mischief. The pop star is part of an ongoing investigation for throwing eggs at his neighbor’s home in Calabasas, California last Thursday.

After reports began circulating this morning that Bieber was being investigated for his egging hijinks, Radio.com spoke with Steve Whitmore, a spokesperson from L.A. County Sheriff’s Department, about the incident, which is currently under investigation.

“We are executing a search warrant on Justin Bieber’s home this morning as part of our now felony vandalism investigation into the allegations that he egged a neighbors home,” Whitmore told Radio.com. “That’s all I can tell you right now.”

TMZ claims that deputies are currently looking for evidence that links Bieber to the egg assault, which reportedly caused thousands in damages to his neighbor’s home.

During a press conference, Whitmore explained that in order for a felony crime to occur, the damage must amount to at least $400.

“The felony comes from the dollar amount of the damage and this residence sustained a great amount of damage that easily achieved the felony vandalism section,” Whitmore said during the press conference. “It’s a felony crime. I get that it was done with eggs, which makes you feel that it’s a lower level crime, but a felony crime is a felony crime no matter how you commit it. This crime rose to the felony section and a judge signed a search warrant saying we should go and get evidence related to the felony crime.”

While Bieber’s neighbor sustained “extensive damage to their home,” Whitmore said Bieber was not arrested or exonerated at this time.

“We didn’t do this search warrant to send a message, that’s not what we do. We hope maybe understanding the gravity of this will change some of the behavior. We hope that we can give the neighborhood the quality of life they deserve.”

This isn’t the first time Bieber has had issues with his neighbors. Last March, Bieber was investigated on battery charges when he confronted a 47-year-old neighbor.

Another neighbor, former NFL star Keyshawn Johnson, spoke out against Bieber after reportedly spotting him sped through their 25-mph residential neighborhood at highway speeds last May, according to the L.A. Times. Bieber’s camp denied that the singer was driving at the time; later Odd Future leader Tyler, The Creator admitted that he was in fact behind the wheel.

During a separate incident, rapper Lil Twist was driving Bieber’s speeding car when arrested for a DUI.

Months later Bieber allegedly went “nuts” in a New York nightclub brawl, and was filmed urinating in a kitchen mop bucket whilst cussing out Bill Clinton.

No word on whether these continuous investigations will force the singer to appear in court.
