Earlier this year, Carole King was named MusiCares Person of the Year and will join the ranks of Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney and Barbara Streisand before her. She will be honored on January 24 at a star-studded gala in Los Angeles, just two days before the GRAMMY Awards.
Today, (December 16) a boatload of stars were added to said star-studded gala, some more unlikely than others. These newly announced performers include: Sara Bareilles, P!nk, will.i.am, Miguel, Alicia Keys, Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles, Train, Martina McBride, Jakob Dylan, Darlene Love, Amy Grant, Gloria Estefan, Jesse & Joy, Merry Clayton, Leah McFall, Lisa Fischer, Judith Hill and King’s daughter Louise Goffin. Jimmy Kimmel will host the evening.

King is being honored for her charitable work with several environmental organizations. She has worked with the Alliance for the Wild Rockies since 1990, as well as other groups in fighting the passage of the Northern Rockies Ecosystem Protection Act.
Proceeds from the 24th annual benefit gala dinner and concert will support MusiCares, which ensures that musicians have a place to turn in times of financial, medical and personal need.
The 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards air on Sunday, January 26 live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
