RZA has no shortage of moving tributes for those who have passed. After releasing “Destiny Bends” when he heard of Paul Walker’s death earlier this month, the Wu-Tang Clan member has followed suit with “Gift of Hope,” a song acknowledging Nelson Mendela’s passing last week.

Will Wells provides the hook on the piano-driven ode to Mandela, which RZA explains was inspired in part by his work on the upcoming Fox show Gang Related.

“Society will continue to fail and eventually implode and erase itself from map due to its own internal discord,” RZA wrote on his SoundCloud page. “In this vein greater men have put down their individual strife in the interest of building the collective. Thus great men are known by the mark they left on their country masses…hard working mothers and fathers see the results when the children raise their family to higher heights…please enjoy this demo that reflect these ideas.”

“Will you ever realize the gift of hope can save a hurting soul,” Wells sings. Listen below.

RZA is the latest artist to honor the South African visionary. U2 recently celebrated Mandela’s life with “Ordinary Love,” while R. Kelly took to Arsenio to do so and Jay Z added a Mandela tribute to his current tour.

Nelson Mandela, the first black president of South Africa and anti-apartheid icon, died on December 5 at his home. He was 95.
