The VH1 Save The Music Foundation has announced its 2014 Ambassador class, led by pop superstar Britney Spears. Next year’s celebrity ambassadors also include Jason Derulo, Hunter Hayes, Diane Birch, Cher Lloyd, Taye Diggs and Gloria Reuben.
“I am so proud to be a VH1 Save The Music Foundation Ambassador,” Spears said in a release. “Music is such a big part of my life and as a mother I can’t imagine my children growing up without it.”
The non-profit foundation launched the annual Ambassador class in 2009 to bring added star power to its goal of helping “to restore instrumental music education programs in public elementary and middle schools across the country.”
Since the launch of the Save the Music campaign, the foundation has been responsible for close to $51 million in new musical instruments to nearly 1,900 public schools throughout America, providing for more than 2.3 million children.
Spears is just about a month away from the release of her highly anticipated eighth studio album, Britney Jean, on Dec. 3. The artist recently revealed new song “Perfume,” which will appear on the album.
