After the haunting tale of love gone crazy in “Better Dig Two” and the definitive statement that was “Done,” country trio The Band Perry is shifting to a more reflective place with their latest single, the power ballad “Don’t Let Me Be Lonely.”

The third single from the band’s sophomore album Pioneer, which was released earlier this year, “Don’t Let Me Be Lonely” was written by veteran Nashville songwriters Sarah Buxton, Rodney Clawson, Chris Tompkins.

Today, the band released a video for the song, directed by Ben Krebs. Watch it below.

At the start of the video, the three sibling bandmates (Neil, Reid and Kimberly Perry) are shown looking rather, well, lonely in scenes shot in various locations around the country–on a tour bus, on a couch backstage, in a high-rise hotel room, on a hilltop in the desert and even on the deck of a ship. “I need a saving grace, a hiding place,” Kimberly Perry sings, “I don’t have forever or time to waste.”

Ultimately, though, the song and the video open up into an invitation (“take the keys to my car and the keys to my heart and just drive”), transforming the melancholy moments into a celebratory mood that’s bursting with emotion–and doing so accompanied by bright stage lights and a blistering guitar solo.

“One of the themes that rose out of this record,” Kimberly Perry told about the songs on Pioneer, “was rising above whatever your circumstances are. But there were also moments where we were just so elated, be it a sense of love, or a sense of accomplishment. We felt all these different emotions over the last two years. So each track is truly a snapshot of a moment in time that we have lived through over the past couple of years.”
