Last night, and all-star cast of women came together at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, all in the name of charity. The unbelievable one-time event saw Katy Perry, Ellie Goulding, Sara Bareilles, Kacey Musgraves, Tegan and Sara and Bonnie McKee share the stage. Thrown by Radio.com and our L.A. station AMP Radio 97.1, the We Can Survive benefit show raised funds for the Young Survival Coalition, an organization supporting young women battling breast cancer.
At the close of the night, all the ladies joined together for Perry’s hit single “Roar,” alternating verses and bringing the house down. Watch the replay of the performance above.
And we sat down with the performers backstage before the show — watch those interviews below. Ellie Goulding, for example, chats with us about new music. “I feel like it’s going to come together so much more when I find the right producer,” she said. “But my instincts are telling me I’m not ready to start properly. I’ve been so horrendously busy with Halcyon and I’m still very committed to it and attached to it and I feel like I’m not quite ready to move on to something, a new chapter.”
