Listen To Pearl Jam’s New Song ‘Sirens’, A Slow-Burner from ‘Lightning Bolt’
With Pearl Jam fans gearing up for the release of the band’s tenth studio album, Lightning Bolt, on October 15, the Seattle band has unveiled “Sirens,” the second song to be previewed from the 12-song set.
The moody, mid-tempo song rides an acoustic guitar groove, a much mellower look in contrast to the new album’s explosive first single, “Mind Your Matters.”
“Sirens” is powered by a particularly strong vocal performance from frontman Eddie Vedder, as the country-tinged song builds to an epic, emotive crescendo, reminiscent of the band’s mid-’90s albums like Vs. and Vitalogy.
Pearl Jam is set to support the new album with an extensive U.S. tour, which kicks off with a sold-out show in Pittsburgh on October 10. The band will also be among the headliners of this year’s Voodoo Music + Arts Experience in New Orleans on November 1. The tour’s second leg starts in Dallas on November 15 and wraps with a homecoming show in Seattle on December 6.
