Nancy Jones, widow of country legend George Jones, announced today that George Strait, Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Eric Church, Reba McEntire, and Alabama have now been added to the November concert honoring her late husband, who passed away this past April.
Taking place this coming Nov. 22 at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn., the long-sold-out show was originally scheduled as part of Jones’ final concert tour (dubbed The Grand Tour after one of his most famous songs–hear it below), and it was to be his last live show in Music City. After Jones passed away, the concert remained on the books and turned into a tribute, honoring a man who was not only one of country’s most legendary artists, but easily among the finest vocalists in all popular music.
All previously announced artists are being reconfirmed, but the names include Alan Jackson, Dierks Bentley, Travis Tritt, Tanya Tucker, Josh Turner, The Oak Ridge Boys, Charlie Daniels, Jamey Johnson, Montgomery Gentry, and Sam Moore.
“I am thrilled and honored that so many of George’s friends are coming to what would have been his last concert,” Nancy Jones said in a press statement. “George loved these artists and before passing had actually wrote letters to almost all of them.”
