Citing an unnamed source, the New York Post reported that the boy band will come together to perform in honor of Justin Timberlake being given the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award for his history of memorable music videos, including “Rock Your Body,” “SexyBack” and “Mirrors.”
The boy band won seven VMA awards before saying bye, bye, bye in 2002. Their last televised performance together was a Bee Gees medley at the 2003 GRAMMYs. More recently, the four others guys not named Justin–Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone, JC Chasez and Lance Bass–were spotted cheering Timberlake on at a Florida stop with Jay Z on the Legends of the Summer Tour.
Timberlake is nominated for six Moonmen this year, including the coveted Video of the Year for “Mirrors.” Timberlake, along with Macklemore and Ryan Lewis who also earned 6 nominations, are tied for the most 2013 nods.
Watch this year’s VMAs this Sunday (Aug. 25) at 8 pm EST to see if all five guys really show up. Crossing our fingers for dyed leather, frosted tips and/or multi-colored dreads, just like the old days.
