Robin Thicke is still riding high on the success of his first No. 1 “Blurred Lines, but he’s also looking to follow that triumph with his risqué new track “Give It 2 U,” which dropped earlier this week. Featuring Kendrick Lamar, the track features Thicke’s familiar falsetto crooning some lyrics that are suggestive, even for Thicke.
“Girl give it to me,” he sings at the track’s start. “I gotta gift for you/A little Thicke for you/A big kiss for you… Big dick for you.”
In a recent interview with Radio.com, Thicke gave his take on the second Blurred Lines single, which was produced by Dr. Luke.
“Give It 2 U” continues Thicke’s new trend in not taking himself too seriously in his songs. Rather than write about his own life as he has done in the past, Thicke told Radio.com that on his new album he decided to focus on just having fun.
“I’ve written so many songs about my insecurities, my fears, my failures, my relationship problems, my personal issues, my issues with God and the universe,” he explained. “I’ve written about everything. I think that’s why this album I was like, ‘I don’t want to write about myself anymore. I just want to write stuff that makes people feel good.’ This is the most fun, feel-good music I’ve ever made.”
His sixth studio album, Blurred Lines, will be released July 30 on Interscope.
