Though they’re known for a sound many consider Americana, the members of Mumford & Sons will honor their U.K. roots this fall on their invitation-only Full English tour. The 13-date North American tour kicks off August 26 in Toronto.
The tour includes four rescheduled shows that the bandmates were forced to postpone earlier this month, after bassist Ted Dwane had to undergo emergency surgery for a blood clot found on his brain. The sudden cancellations prematurely ended their Summer Stampede tour and also forced them to forgo their scheduled Bonnaroo performance. (Dwane, by the way, is “making a steady recovery,” according to a statement on the band’s website, and is “rather overwhelmed” by all the support from fans.)
The rescheduled dates include stops in New Orleans, Kansas City, Dallas, and Woodlands, Texas. Tickets purchased to the original shows will be honored at the rescheduled dates in September.
The Full English tour will bring the “Whispers in the Dark” band through additional cities in the Midwest and the South. Fans hoping to score tickets to this string of dates (not including the rescheduled shows) must register on the Mumford and Sons website for a chance to be selected for the opportunity to purchase tickets to the tour. The system serves as a measure against scalpers and will be open for registration through July 3.
