Lady Gaga has been very silent this year. But it looks like that’s about to change.
Last week, she released a photo of herself back in the studio, and from the looks of things, it appears that Mother Monster is ready to get back to work after her unplanned leave of absence.
In February, Gaga postponed several tour dates citing health issues before she went on to cancel her Born This Way Ball Tour.
“After additional tests this morning to review the severity of the issue, it has been determined that Lady Gaga has a labral tear of the right hip. She will need surgery to repair the problem, followed by strict down time to recover. This unfortunately, will force her to cancel the tour so she can heal,” a press statement from Live Nation said at the time.
Diagnosed with synovitis, which is severe inflammation of the joints, Gaga went into the hospital for hip surgery and followed her doctor’s orders to rest. She even splurged on a 24-Karat gold wheelchair, custom-made by New York-based stylist Ken Borochov, to keep off her feet.
While fans have been eagerly waiting for updates from her social networking site LittleMonsters.com, new music from the singer is likely on the way, as are surprise performances. It’s rumored that Gaga will share the stage with Beyonce when she comes to Brooklyn’s Barclays Center for her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour, and many speculate she’ll make a comeback performance at the MTV VMAs in August.
Until then, she has plenty of time to figure out future collaborations for her forthcoming album ARTPOP.
