Brown announced Tuesday (May 13) that, just as Drake did last year, he is working with unheard vocals from the late R&B songstress for a track on his upcoming album, X.
Brown explained the video concept at the BET Awards 2013 press conference, saying “I shot it in the ‘hood. I went to 60th Street and Cedar Block. [I'm] bringing both worlds together and trying to uplift the poverty side of the community and show them where I’m from. I’m from Virginia, but everybody comes from a broken home or being broke — I remember when I was.”
Love giving back to the hood. Showing love. Happy Mother’s Day!

Drake first tapped into Aaliyah’s unheard music vault, updating her unreleased “Enough Said” with his own verses last August. The release came amidst rumors that he would produce a posthumous album of the songstress’ work, though updates on the alleged album have died down.
Brown has been teasing fans with goodies related to his album, including two X-sessions tracks that didn’t make the cut, “Can’t Win” and “Give it Away,” not to mention the album’s lead single, “Fine China.”
X hits stores July 16th.
