Limp Bizkit And Lil Wayne ‘Ready To Go’ With New Song
When Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst announced his band had signed with Lil Wayne‘s Cash Money recording home in February 2012, fans and critics questioned the wisdom of the union. With the release of a new single, they provide answers.
Sunday (March 24) night, Limp Bizkit unveiled a new track, “Ready To Go,” from their forthcoming album Stampede of the Disco Elephants. The profanity-laden single offers a look into Limp Bizkit’s Cash Money direction, snagging a feature with in-demand rapper Lil Wayne.
The Polow Da Don-produced track plays up the rowdy sound that Limp Bizkit made famous in the ’90s. Durst’s in-your-face style is on full display as he refers to himself as the “motherf******* rock God” in his first line. The chorus further establishes his devil-may-care attitude.
“They say that rock s*** doesn’t rock anymore/…We drinking gin until we pass out and fall on the floor/ Is that your b**** because she telling me she ready to go”

Last March Durst discussed the “Ready To Go” with Billboard.
“It sounds like a monster; it literally sounds dangerous,” said Durst. “It sounds like that left of center, that place of discomfort that created rock ‘n’ roll, created the metal, where it all spawned from.”
Limp Bizkit co-founder Wes Borland took to his Twitlonger account to silence the haters. The guitarist took aim at critics of the mash-up with Lil Wayne:
“I think ‘Ready To Go’ is great and I’m a fan of Lil Wayne and was thrilled he could be a part of it. I don’t know what some people were expecting from LB’s new material, but if you think R2G is far from the mark of our business-as-usual, you’re either not well acquainted with our band, or have insane expectations that will never be met by anything we deliver.”
“Ready To Go” hits the net a week after Lil Wayne was discharged from the hospital where he was recovering from an attack of seizures.
Upon leaving the hospital, Wayne announced his forthcoming America’s Most Wanted tour, which will feature Tyga, Future and T.I. Meanwhile, Limp Bizkit will set out on tour April 25 beginning at Fort Lauderdale, Florida’s Revolution Live Festival. (see below)
