If for some reason you’ve been wondering what Justin Timberlake’s music would sound like when sung by a barbershop quartet, you’re in luck. JT revealed it to the world last night (March 12) on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, a performance you can watch here.
“Ladies and gentleman, for the first time ever, combining the harmony of a barbershop quartet with Justin Timberlake music please welcome the Ragtime Gals.”
Timberlake then took the Fallon stage for night two of his week-long run on the show. Dressed in colorful blazers and top hats, Timberlake, Fallon and friends harmonized while alternating lead vocals on the track.
Giving new meaning to “SexyBack,” Timberlake once again took the stage to poke fun at himself all while being a good sport and putting an intriguing spin on his signature single.
He also performed a soulful rendition of “Mirrors,” the second single from his new album, The 20/20 Experience. His backing band – complete with a tuba and backup singers – fleshed out the track, as his sultry falsetto vocals reminded us all what’s been missing in the music world.
It’s been a whirlwind week of publicity following JT’s fifth stint as a host and performer on Saturday Night Live. Timberlake’s Monday appearance on Fallon included him setting the record straight on his beef with Kanye West.
JT’s week-long Fallon stint continues tonight, and with the hamming-it-up he’s known for, we can only wonder what’s next. A “Cry Me A River” duet with Britney Spears? A reunion performance with his former N’SYNC bandmates?
